For the past few years my New Year Resolutions have included my blog – find time to write more. But life is busy. This particular stage with a 4 and a 1 year old is tiring – oh so lovely but tiring – not to mention the fact that my littlest has only started to sleep more than a handful of hours at a time aged 20 months. I’ve been thinking about ways I can keep the blog going even when things are hectic and so I’ve decided to write shorter ‘5 of my favourite’ posts, starting with some of my favourite natural beauty products.
I discovered this company at this year’s Country Living Christmas Fair in Glasgow and I absolutely love their facial products. I initially bought the day cream but loved it so much I then ordered the night cream and the face serum. As I haven’t had many uninterrupted nights’ sleep over the last year I had been looking for a good night cream to make sure that my skin was at least getting some nourishment overnight. And I just adore this one. Both the day and night creams feel lovely on my skin but I particularly love the smell of the night cream (it’s scented with Frankincense and Bergamot essential oils). I have quite dry skin and since using these products I’ve noticed that my skin is much softer. I’ve tried many face creams over the last few years and never found anything that I have loved as much as these products.
Again I discovered Beatitude at the Country Living Fair in Glasgow but it was about 4 years ago. I bought the Joy bath oil as a birthday gift for my mother in law and I think I probably have quite predictably included something from Beatitude in her birthday presents since then – this year it was their brand new Comfort candle which just smelled divine. I also share her love of their cleansing bar (described quite aptly on their site as a ‘spa-in-a-bar’).
The Peace bath oil is probably my favourite of all my natural beauty products, it just smells amazing. I don’t often have baths at the moment as I tend to work in the evenings but when I do run a bath with this oil it feels like a spa treatment, the house just fills with its beautiful scent. After our accidental Munro bagging in September I was so looking forward to treating my sore muscles to a soak when I discovered that my husband had jumped in the bath before me. He looked at me guiltily and said he couldn’t help but steal the bath as it smelled so inviting – hmm.
If you’re at all stressed it’s the perfect way to unwind.
My mum bought this spray for me and I use it all the time – in the morning to wake me up a bit, when I’m at my desk, at night before I go to sleep, on hot summer days (when we get those!)… I even used it when I was in labour with Isaac. I love its scent (I think I must be drawn to the scent of Frankincense) and like to spritz my face when I’m tired/needing a boost. It’s a wonderful all-round product.
Also pictured here is the Neal’s Yard Beauty Sleep Concentrate cream, which I’m a big fan of (I particularly loved using this when I felt like I was getting very little sleep and nights were hard with Flora). I also love the Lemon & Coriander Deodorant, which is the only natural one I’ve tried that really works for me.
